Kent’s ShoWare Center has a new, longer name – the accesso ShoWare Center.
Crews placed the new sign last week at the city-owned arena under a new naming rights agreement with England-based accesso, which uses the small letter “a” for its name – Italian for access or admission.
The company in 2014 bought California-based VisionOne, Inc., which owned ShoWare. The owners of accesso agreed to pay $3 million to the city to get the naming rights for 10 years. A technology firm, accesso offers ticketing services to more than 1,000 clients, including concert venues, theme parks and others around the world.
