Kent’s Stefano Langone will sing a Motown hit as one of the 11 “American Idol” finalists Wednesday night on Fox.

Langone, 22, a former Kentwood High School and Bellevue College student, shined on last week’s show when he nailed Simply Red’s version of “If You Don’t Know Me by Now.”

After the performances Wednesday, the Thursday night results show is expected to eliminate another contestant after the viewers’ votes are counted. The judges do have one wild card they can use to save a contestant with the least amount of votes at some point during the finals.

“American Idol” rules required every contestant to sing a Motown hit this week. They had to sing a song from the year they were born last week.

The two-hour show starts at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Contestants Karen Rodriguez and Ashton Jones have been eliminated so far because of the lowest vote totals.
