King County police agencies stopped 399 vehicles and arrested 30 drivers for investigation of DUI during recent emphasis patrols.
The King County Sheriff’s Office and 17 other local law enforcement agencies in the county, including Kent Police, participated in a DUI emphasis Oct. 28-29.
More than 50 extra officers patrolled cities and unincorporated areas in King County looking for drunk drivers, according to a Sheriff’s Office media release.
During the emphasis, officers conducted 399 traffic stops, made 30 DUI arrests, issued 144 infractions and made 12 warrant arrests, six of which were DUI warrants.
Agencies participating included the Washington State Patrol, Washington State Liquor Control Board and police officers from Bellevue, Black Diamond, Burien, Covington, Enumclaw, Federal Way, Kent, Maple Valley, Muckleshoot, Port of Seattle, Redmond, SeaTac, Seattle and Shoreline.
Funds for the emphasis were provided by the King County Council and Washington Traffic Safety Commission Target Zero program.
