Expect even more lane closures than normal during the ongoing East James Street construction in Kent as work continues from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, through 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26.
Crews will complete the final asphalt lift with intermittent lane closures eastbound and westbound between Central Avenue South and 100th Avenue Southeast, according to city officials. Expect travel time delays during typical high volumes on James Street.
Drivers have faced closures along the street all summer with installation of a new stormwater pump station and piping to help ease flooding along the road, part of a $2.3 million project expected to be completed by October.
