Jan. 1 will be cold outside, but things will be heating up in the Kent ShoWare Center.

That’s because Kent is set to host The Seattle Mist, an official team of the Lingerie Football League (LFL). The scantily clad players will be coming home for the team’s final game of the season. The team will take on the Dallas Desire in a battle at Kent’s ShoWare Center.

Since its first kick-off in September, the LFL has drawn national attention for its games that feature lingerie-clad women playing seven-on-seven, full-contact football. This year’s inaugural season of the LFL includes 10 teams from all over the nation, with the Western Conference including the San Diego Seduction, Seattle Mist, Los Angeles Temptation, Denver Dream and Dallas Desire; and the Eastern Conference consisting of the Chicago Bliss, New York Majesty, Philadelphia Passion, Tampa Breeze and Miami Caliente.

Ranked fifth in the league with a 2-1 season, the Seattle Mist will host Western Conference rival and the No. 1 ranked Dallas Desire (3-0) in the season’s final showdown riddled with playoff implications. Only two teams from each conference will advance to playoffs in Miami, with winners advancing to the Seventh Annual Lingerie Bowl, the LFL’s championship game. For the Seattle Mist to make their first-ever playoff berth they must beat the Dallas Desire and hope for a Los Angeles loss.

In anticipation of the big game, the ladies of the Seattle Mist will be in uniform on Tuesday, Dec. 29, hosting a media day at ShoWare Center from 11:00 a.m. to noon.

Seattle Mist fans also can start the party early at the LFL’s Tailgate Village festivities starting 7 p.m. on game day.
