Puget Sound drivers can expect major changes to their commute starting early Tuesday morning as they adjust to a tolled SR 520 bridge. The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) expects the morning rush hour to start earlier and end later on I-90 and SR 522, but commuters on all roadways around and across Lake Washington will notice a change in traffic. Tuesday’s commute will start the long process of traffic resettling into a new normal that includes SR 520 tolling.
WSDOT Toll Systems and Engineering Director Patty Rubstello will be available 4 a.m. Tuesday to provide an update on what drivers should expect during the first full commute day with a tolled SR 520 bridge. She’ll also share tips that will help drivers plan their trips.
