Man found fatally shot inside car in Kent along Green River Road

Kent Police say it does not appear to be a random act

Kent Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old man near the 27700 block of Green River Road.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting at about 6 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, according to a Kent Police statement. Officers found a man dead inside a car along the side of the road.

There had been reports of an illegal discharge in the area Wednesday night to the Auburn Police. It is unclear if that call is associated with the shooting, according to police.

The King County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s identity after its investigation.

Kent Police detectives responded to the scene to conduct their investigation. The events leading up to the shooting at this time are unknown, but it does not appear to be random act, according to police. Detectives are continuing to collect evidence and seek to talk with witnesses.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 911, or the Kent Police tip line 253-856-5808. Persons with information can also email KPDTIPS@kentwa.gov
