Martin Sortun Elementary School in Kent is among the Top 10 Schools nationwide redeeming the most points donated by families for free supplies and equipment as part of the My Coke Rewards program.
Together, the 10 schools have collected more than $5,000 worth of goods for their classes, cashing in points donated at www.mycokerewards.com.
The bonanza allowed Martin Sortun Elementary School to spend its points on a complete Grades K-5 Physical Education Essentials kit, including brightly colored scooters, hoops, ropes and balls and other equipment and on a music system to listen to songs and a 15-piece rhythm band set to allow students to create their own music.
My Coke Rewards for Schools, launched last year, continues during the 2009-2010 school year. A Back-to-School Sweepstakes, which runs through Aug. 31 will also enter schools – and one lucky family of four – for a chance to win a free movie screening of “More Than A Game,” the story of courage and teamwork featuring NBA All Star and MVP LeBron James and his high school teammates. Winning schools will get the screening in their hometown. The winning family of four will get a trip to New York City for the movie premiere on Sept. 22.
Families can participate in My Coke Rewards by going to www.mycokerewards.com and donating points. Codes can be found on more than 200 participating packages of Coca-Cola products including Sprite, Dasani and Minute Maid.
