Mayor Ralph swears in four Kent City Council members

John Boyd, Bill Boyce, Marli Larimer and Zandria Michaud; Boyd only newcomer

With no Kent City Council meeting scheduled until Jan. 16, 2024, Mayor Dana Ralph swore in three reelected members and one new member a bit early.

Ralph held the swearing-in ceremony Friday, Dec. 22 at City Hall for Councilmember-elect John Boyd and reelected Council President Bill Boyce,and Councilmember Marli Larimer and Councilmember Zandria Michaud. All four members will serve four-year terms on the council starting Jan. 1, 2024.

Boyd defeated Kelly Wiggans-Crawford on the November ballot to replace Les Thomas, who retired after 20 years on the council.

Boyce, who was first elected in 2011, ran unopposed. He will begin his fourth four-year term. Michaud defeated challenger Darryl Jones and will begin her second four-year term. Larimer defeated challenger Jessie Ramsey. Larmier was appointed to fill a council vacancy in 2018 and won election to that seat in 2019.

The other three members of the council are Toni Troutner, Brenda Fincher and Satwinder Kaur.
