The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Kent and the rest of the Puget Sound area from 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16 to 1 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17 due to the chance of freezing rain.
Mixed precipitation is expected, with areas of freezing rain, according to the prediction. Total snow accumulations of less than half an inch and ice. The impacts include slippery road conditions.
The areas of freezing rain are predicted to begin across Lewis County, south of Olympia, later Tuesday afternoon, and continue northward into the Puget Sound area Tuesday evening.
The forecast for Kent is little or no ice accumulation becoming all rain after 9 p.m. The high on Tuesday is expected to be 38 degrees with temperatures dropping to near 34 around 5 p.m. Wednesday’s temps are predicted to be a high of 41 and low of 32.
