New Connections of South King County will have its first dinner fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at The Golden Steer Steak N’ Rib House, 23826 104th Ave S.E., in Kent.

A silent and live auction will include items ranging from a trip to Mexico at an all-inclusive resort to a week in Ocean Shores as well as gift cards from Trapper’s Sushi, the Melting Pot, 90-minute Swedish massages at The Wellness Sanctuary, Disney on Ice at ShoWare Center and much more.

Kent-based New Connections of South King County helps provide some of the basic needs to clients such as Washington State ID’s and hygiene packs. These items are a necessity to someone seeking employment.

For the last 13 years this program has assisted people with getting their driver’s license reinstated, provided referrals to housing and other supportive services to make clients more self-sufficient.

New Connections has invited Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke, state Sen. Joe Fain (R-Auburn), Assistant Kent Police Chief Rafael Padilla and King County Councilmember Dave Upthegrove to the event.

Anyone unable to attend the event but who would like to make a donation, can send a tax deductible donation to New Connections, 422 West Titus St., Kent WA 98032.

For more information and to reserve seats at the dinner, call Polly at 425-241-1247.
