New I-405 bridge in Renton opens Saturday; expect delays

Drivers should expect delays on Saturday night as crews shift northbound I-405 traffic onto the new bridge over Oakesdale Avenue Southwest. The work requires lane and ramp closures on northbound I-405 between SR 181 and SR 167 as crews pave and paint lane stripes.

• Saturday, July 25 – Crews will close two lanes on northbound I-405 between SR 181 and SR 167 for construction work. Crews will close two lanes from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. Crews will open one lane at 3 a.m. and all lanes by 2 p.m.

• Saturday, July 25 – Crews will close the on-ramp from each direction of SR 181 to northbound I-405 from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. for construction work.

During the week of Sunday, July 26 to Friday, July 31, crews may also close the following lanes and ramps during the night and early morning hours:

Bellevue

•  Three lanes on northbound I-405 from I-90 to SE Eighth Street.

• Three lanes on southbound I-405 from I-90 to Coal Creek Parkway.

• Two lanes on northbound I-405 from Coal Creek Parkway to I90.

• Three lanes on southbound I-405 between SE Eighth Street and SR 520.

• The ramps at the downtown Bellevue, I-90, Coal Creek Parkway and 112th Avenue SE interchanges

Renton and Tukwila

• Two lanes in each direction on I-405 between I-5 and SR 169.

• The on-ramp from northbound SR 167 to northbound I-405.

• The on-ramp to southbound I-405 from southbound SR 167.
