A 42-year-old Normandy Park man was injured after a car became involved in a crash with his motorcycle at about 11:40 p.m. June 11 in the 20800 block of 132nd Avenue Southeast in unincorporated Kent.
Paramedics transferred the motorcycle driver in critical condition to Harborview Medical Center, said John Urquhart, spokesman for the King County Sheriff’s Office. As of Wednesday, the Normandy Park man remained alive but no further reports on his condition were available, Urquhart said.
The man traveled northbound on 132nd Avenue Southeast on a 1998 Honda motorcycle when he reportedly was struck from behind by a 1995 Mercedes 280, driven by a 30-year-old Renton man. The Renton man was not injured. The motorcycle driver wore a helmet.
Detectives believe excessive speed could have contributed to the accident, Urquhart said. The case remains under investigation.
