Democratic incumbents Tina Orwall and Mia Su-Ling Gregerson each crushed their opponents to win reelection Tuesday in the 33rd District to the state Legislature in Olympia.
Orwall received 72.76% (36,694 votes) while Republican Kerry French received 27.04% (13,639 votes), according to King County Elections results. Orwall, of Des Moines, has been the state representative since taking office in 2009.
Gregerson, of SeaTac, had 74.56% (36,103 votes) while Libertarian Marliza Melzer received 24.41% (11,818 votes). Gregerson has represented the 33rd District since 2013.
The 33rd District includes parts of Kent, Renton, Des Moines, SeaTac and Burien.
Orwall received cash and in-kind contributions of $79,851, according to the state Public Disclosure Commission. She received 11 donations of $2,000 each. French had contributions of $5,019. French had more than 400 write-in votes in August to earn a spot on the general election ballot.
Gregerson received contributions of $54,205. She previously served on the SeaTac City Council and as SeaTac mayor. Melzer had contributions of $6,475.
