Pacific Raceways and its talented drivers play a role in a big screen production.
Kent’s storied road course is a part of 20th Century Fox’s new film, “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” scheduled to premere in theaters nationwide Friday.
The movie is adapted from Seattle native Garth Stein’s best-selling novel of the same name.
The movie’s main character Denny Swift – played by Milo Ventimiglia – is an amateur race car driver who races at Pacific Raceways in the movie and is a teacher at their school, a fictionalized version of Pacific Raceways’ ProFormance Racing Academy.

ProFormance instructor Don Kitch Jr. is played in the movie by Gary Cole, and Denny Swift’s character is influenced by Stein’s ProFormance instructor Kevin York.
The movie release comes on the heels of Pacific Raceways’ recent $25M expansion announcement as covered by the Auburn Reporter.
