PTA’s throughout the state nominated their school principal to be entered in a drawing to be a “human hamster” at halftime of the Seattle Sounders game against the New York Red Bulls today at Century Link Field.
Out of more than 100 entries, Park Orchard Elementary Principal Eric Richards and another principal were selected to go head-to-head in giant inflatable clear plastic spheres on the soccer field during the halftime show of today’s 6 p.m. game.
For participating, both schools received 50 tickets so selected students and parents will be able to go onto the field to cheer their principals during this event. Principals can earn $2,000 for their school for first place and $1,000 for second place, and a possible player appearanceat the school.
PEMCO Insurance and the Sounders sponsored the competition organized by the Washington State PTA.
