Have you been told you look like your dog or cat? Here’s your chance to see if you’re right: from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 25, Kent Station will host an event for pet owners and the animals who love them. The fun includes, of course, a contest for those starting to resemble their pets (that event gets under way at 1 p.m.)
Other activities for the “Dog Daze and Feline Fantasies” event include a pet-costume contest at 2 p.m. followed by a parade; a 3 p.m. pet show with categories you’ll never see on the pro circuit (longest whiskers, curliest tail, prettiest nails, etc.), as well as a variety of demonstrations, and a pet adoptathon.
The day of fun is free, but the catch is that your pet needs to be licensed to participate. It’s a way that Kent and Regional Animal Services of King County are encouraging pet owners to purchase required licenses for their pets, before the Oct. 1 deadline requiring the licenses. You’ll be able to license your pet at the event, or in advance, by going to www.kentpetlicense.com.
