Firefighter Jacob Toevs, with the Kent Fire Department Regional Fire Authority, took in a live fire training exercise in Burien on March 19.
The training was put on by the South King County Fire Training Consortium, which is made up of eight fire departments including Kent. This type of training allows firefighters to experience conditions of a house fire in a controlled environment.
Toevs, who had worked for the fire department for four days when the training occurred, said the exercise was a “great hands-on experience.”
