Fans of bad movies and fans of people who make fun of bad movies will both have something to cheer about this month when members of the cast of “Mystery Science Theater 3000” reunite for a live broadcast of “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” generally considered the worst movie ever made.

The Kent Station 14 will be part of a one-night-only, nationwide in-theater broadcast that will reunite the cast of the former Comedy Central mainstay for a night of live riffing at the 1959 science fiction/horror classic.

The special showing is scheduled for 8 p.m. Aug. 20.

Michael J. Nelson, Kevin Murphy (Tom Servo) and Bill Corbett (Crow T. Robot) will all be reunited in high definition for the first time ever on the big screen for an from The Belcourt Theatre in Nashville, Tenn.

The ultimate riffers who “make movies funny” on the Internet comedy sensation RiffTrax.com will fling wisecracking commentary live at a color version of “Plan 9 from Outer Space,” the Edward D. Wood Jr. spectacle featuring aliens, zombies, amateurish special effects and bad acting.

Presented by NCM Fathom and Something Awful, this exclusive RiffTrax Live: Plan 9 from Outer Space event is hosted by Veronica Belmont, co-host of Revisions3’s tech-centric show, “Tekzilla” and “Qore” on the PlayStation Network. Something Awful’s Rick “Lowtax” Kyanka will present a guest segment and Jonathan Coulton is the special musical guest.

The event will also feature an exclusive look at a new, never-before-seen short that audiences may download following the event. A URL and code will be revealed at the end of the event for the short as well as a free autographed digital photo and song by the RiffTones.

Tickets are available at participating theater box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com.
