Early Tuesday morning, Oct. 22 incident at 743 Central Ave. N.

A 26-year-old woman was shot and injured early Tuesday morning, Oct. 22 in the parking lot of the Kent Valley Motel, 743 Central Ave. N.

Officers responded at about 1:24 a.m. after 911 calls about a shooting at the motel, according to an Oct. 22 Kent Police news release. Officers found the woman in the parking lot with gunshot wounds to the abdomen, arm and leg.

Officers immediately provided emergency medical care until Puget Sound Fire personnel arrived and continued lifesaving medical aid. Medics transported the woman to a local hospital where she was in stable condition, according to police. The suspect, who appears to be known to the victim, fled the scene just prior to the officers arriving.

Police swept the area for evidence and spoke with witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting. Detectives responded to the motel and are continuing to process the scene for evidence and pursue leads.
