“The wine festival gala is the hottest ticket in town,” said Lisa Meineke, president of the Des Moines Rotary, in a media release. “Everybody has a great time. People come back year after year. And this year we have new wineries and more wineries than ever before.”
The music lineup on March 6 includes Darren Motamedy (12:30-3 p.m.) and 4th Degree (3:30-6:30 p.m.). The featured music on March 7 includes Rouge (12:30-2:30 p.m.) and Billet-Deux (3-5 p.m.).
Local restaurants and gourmet food vendors will share samples of breads, cheese, smoke salmon, chocolate and other items during the festival.
The Rotary Club of Des Moines has raised more than $150,000 during the first five years of the festival. Proceeds go to a variety of charitable projects, including college scholarships, school grants, recreation programs for children, food banks and homeless programs.
