A 30-year-old, pregnant Federal Way woman sustained minor injuries after her car veered off of West Valley Highway at about 11 a.m. Friday and ran over a number of bee hives.
The woman, eight months pregnant, was traveling southbound near the 25800 block of West Valley Highway when she said she felt faint and veered off the street, according to a Kent Fire Department media release.
The woman’s car ran through a fence, ran over several bee hives, nipped a small shed and then hit a small, cinder-block outbuilding.
Angry bees harassed Kent Fire Department and King County Medic One personnel while they extricated the woman from the car. Rescue workers managed to quickly remove the woman from the car and away from the swarm of bees.
Paramedics treated the woman for minor injuries and transported her to a local hospital for further medical evaluation.
