Christopher J. Jarmick, a writer and poet, leads a free poetry workshop Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Kent Senior Center, Room 6, 600 E. Smith St.
It is open to the public.
The workshop will cover prompts and how to use them to create several poems or first drafts of poems. Participants will then share some of these poems, and write a bit more.
Jarmick also will share some new poems from his just published “Not Aloud” (MoonPath Press), including a few that began as prompt poems.
Jarmick has curated and hosted regularly scheduled poetry nights and special events in the Northwest since 2001. He frequently updates his blog: PoetryIsEverything (Google it as one word) and publicizes dozens of readings, occurring primarily in the region.
