Public invited to learn about Kent School District’s strategic plan

The Kent School District will give two public presentations about the district’s strategic plan “Blueprint: Leaning Forward Together 2016-2021.”

The meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 6, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at the district’s Administration Center, 12033 SE 256th St.

Superintendent Calvin J. Watts and Jewelle Harmon, the district’s chief accountability officer, will talk about how the district plans to produce graduates who are globally competitive learners through equitable access to high quality academic, social and applied learning.

“Blueprint: Leaning Forward Together 2016-2021” is designed to respond to primary stakeholder priorities with a mission, vision, theory of action, goals, metrics and core values driven by research and best-we-know practices. It sets forth a shared vision that is purposeful and directed toward setting higher standards for students and staff, driven by equity and excellence.
