Gates are going down on streets with no reported trains, according to city officials. Roadways affected so far include James Street, Smith Street, Meeker Street and Gowe Street. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes, including South 212th Street and South 277th Street.
Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway has a technician en route, according to a 10:40 a.m. report from the city. It is unknown when the problem will be corrected.
Any further issues can be reported directly to the railroad at 1-800-713-3599.
