For the Reporter

Second- and third-graders interested in joining Rainier Youth Choirs are invited to attend an orientation with their parents/guardians to learn about a new choir, called Vocina, at 5:30 p.m. today.

Vocina is Italian for “little voice” and the choir will introduce children to vocal, rhythm and performance skills. Vocina choir director Karen Martin, who also teaches in the Kent School District and conducts the Evergreen Women’s Chorale, plans for Vocina to be a fun and safe hour exploring the joy of making music through activities and games each week.

Choir spots are limited and the last chance to audition is Sept. 29 by appointment.

Rainier Youth Choirs is a nonprofit organization with no religious affiliation dedicated to providing instruction that guides young singers to attain the highest level of artistry in choral performance and music education through an affordable program.

Visit www.rainieryouthchoirs.org to schedule an audition and/or buy 2014-15 season concert tickets. For more details contact RYC at 253-315-3125 or info@rainieryouthchoirs.org.
