Ready to recycle items that have been sitting around the house? Then take the items to the city of Kent’s Special Recycling Event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 19 at Russell Road Park, 24400 Russell Road.
Bring old appliances, including the power-hogging fridge, microwave and washer. Bring the old mattress, toilet, tires, electronics and bulky wood debris. Styrofoam blocks and packing peanuts also will be accepted this year.
The event is open to King County residents. A small fee is applicable for some items.
For a complete list of what you can bring for recycling, as well as any prices, go to www.ci.kent.wa.us or call the city at 253-856-5549.
