Want to know the people in your Kent neighborhood better? Then sign up with the city of Kent for National Night Out, which takes place Aug. 3.
The event, which is part of a nationwide program, is designed to reduce crime by bringing neighbors together to get to know each other and their community better.
City employees visited many of the potlucks, barbecues and other events hosted by neighborhoods in past events, and Kent has seen national interest for its level of participation in the event. Groups in Panther Lake, which annexes to the city July 1, also can register to participate in the event.
