It’s time to sign up to use Kent’s Community Garden P-Patch.
Pre-registration for returning gardeners runs from Monday, Feb. 27 through Friday, March 9. New gardener registration begins Monday, March 12 and requires a $25 refundable deposit.
The season goes from April 1 through Sept. 30 at its regular location on the corner of James Street and 64th Avenue South. Gardeners may rent a 20 x 20-foot plot for a $40 water fee. There are 44 plots available and they are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Gardeners may register by calling the Kent Commons at 253-856-5000 or stopping by in person at Kent Commons, 525 Fourth Ave. S. Please note, this is a different registration location than last year.
The P-Patch program has been offering organic community gardening since 1997. The program is a collaborative effort between the city of Kent and The Bishop’s Storehouse, an extension of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
