The (Noon) Rotary Club of Kent recently recently recognized its Students of the Month – Kent-Meridian High School’s Rose Reed and Simon Manivong – for their outstanding work in community service.
Reed is involved with music and video production at school, and works with the WACAP (World Association for Children and Parents) and the Kent International Festival. She hopes to attend Central Washington University to focus on a music education degree.
Manivong volunteers in the concession stands for football games and track and field meets, as well as the sophomore class movie night. He also helps with the staff appreciation lunch and referees wrestling. Outside of school, he has helped with the You Me We Festival, street and park cleanups and the Kent Historical Society Auction. Manivong hopes to attend the University of Washington and study aerospace engineering and business administration.
