In keeping with “Service Above Self” motto, The Rotary Club of Kent-Sunrise sets a meeting each month, during the school year, to honor students of a Kent district middle school.  Meeker Middle School recently was honored in May.

The six honorees represent two for academic achievement, two for citizenship recognition along with an outstanding teacher and a supportive staff member. They, along with their parents, are invited to breakfast for this special early morning presentation.

Kent Sunrise Rotary recognized students Kenny Pham, JoJo Saunders, Jenna McGhie and Ireland Scheer; Principal Jeff Pelzel, Principal; paraeducator Lisa Cabalquinto; and math teacher Brad Pizzalato.

Each student is presented with $50 gift card to Barnes & Noble to help them with future study.  Support staff member and  the extraordinary teacher are awarded $75 gift certificates.  Student’s parents are encouraged to attend the breakfast presentation along with their students.
