For the Reporter

The Union Gospel Mission will be open Christmas Day to serve those who have no family or friends to share this special holiday.

Throughout the day, volunteers and Mission employees will serve approximately 2,100 meals.

The Mission believes that providing a basic need — like a meal — helps open the door to the promise of a future that has been all but lost. A meal can offer a pathway to restoration and hope, for one homeless or hungry person at a time.

The Mission’s goal is to serve 250,000 meals to people in need by Dec. 31, as part of the sixth annual One Meal/One Hope Fight Hunger with Hope Campaign.
