A semi driver, who had to be extricated after his truck overturned Tuesday morning in the 22400 block of 84th Avenue South in Kent, was cited for second-degree negligent driving.
The semi was on South 224th Street at about 9:40 a.m. when the driver, a 33-year-old SeaTac man, turned to go south on 84th Avenue South, and the semi tipped over due to driver error, according to a Dec. 16 email from Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner.
“Speed appears to be a factor,” Kasner said.
Paramedics transported the driver to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Puget Sound Fire. No other vehicles were involved.
Kent Police initially closed both directions of 84th Avenue South at South 224th Street. The road reopened just after 12 p.m.
