Sentencing has been continued again for a Tacoma man convicted in connection with the Kent car show, gang-related shooting last July that injured 12 people.

Patrick Anthony Auble is scheduled to be sentenced at 8:30 a.m. July 6 before King County Superior Court Judge James Cayce at the Norm Maleng Regional Justice Center in Kent.

Auble was scheduled to be sentenced Friday, June 15 but his new attorney asked for more time to read the trial transcripts, said Ian Goodhew, spokesman for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Auble also had a sentencing date continued from May to June.

A jury convicted Auble May 2 of first-degree rendering criminal assistance, the same charge sought by prosecutors. The sentencing range is six to 12 months. Prosecutors are recommending to the judge 12 months.

The jury convicted Auble for hiding one of the vehicles that carried shooters away from the shooting at the La Plaza strip mall, 23311 Pacific Highway S. He was arrested Sept. 14 with bail set at $100,000. Auble posted bail the next day and was released.

Six other men charged in connection with the shooting have not yet received trial dates.

Shea C. Auble, of Auburn, and the brother of Patrick Auble, also is charged with rendering criminal assistance for helping to hide a vehicle or gun connected with the shooting.

Twelve people were injured at the lowrider car show attended by about 250 people. Another person was injured later that night in a retaliatory shooting at a Kent East Hill apartment. Of the 13 victims, seven were gang members, according to Kent Police.

None of the injuries were life threatening.
