Seven candidates will be interviewed Tuesday, Feb. 11 by the Kent School Board for the vacant District 4 position.
The interviews start at 5 p.m. during a special meeting at the Kent School District boardroom at the Administration Center, 12033 SE 256th St. The board will then go into executive session to discuss the candidates before returning to an open session meeting to vote on its selection. District staff estimates the interviews will last until about 9:25 p.m., according to board documents.
The position became vacant after Awale Farah resigned in December 2024 to spend more time with his family. Candidates must live within the District 4 boundaries.
The four remaining board members (Tim Clark, Donald Cook, Meghan Margel and Andy Song) picked seven finalists, based on applications, at a special meeting Feb. 5.
The seven finalists are:
• Michael Taskey
• David Stanford
• Kathryn Parker
• Justin James
• Teresa Gregory
• Thomas Foege
• Clifford Cawthon
