In response to cold weather conditions, the city of Kent is activating a severe weather shelter again on Thursday night at Kent Lutheran Church, 336 Second Ave. S.
Operated by Catholic Community Services staff and volunteers from Kent Lutheran Church, the shelter will open at 9 p.m. for check-in and registration and close at 7 a.m. Friday. The shelter also was open the previous two nights.
Priority is given to homeless families with children living on the streets or in vehicles, but is also available for single women and men. As with all shelters, rules for the health and safety of all clients and staff and the broader community apply.
