Meeker Middle School in the Kent School District closed at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday due to a problem with the sewer system.
Buses were called in to take students home, students who walked were released and parents who pick up students by car were notified to come to the school, 12600 S.E. 192nd St in Renton., according to a district media release.
All afternoon and evening events have been cancelled or relocated.
Crews are on site to assess the problem and advise the district on a timeline for repairs. Check the district and or the school websites for updates on Thursday’s school schedule.
The school is in the Soos Creek Water and Sewer District.
