Sleepless in Seattle’s 2016 Big Give needs volunteers, donations

A county-wide effort – Sleepless in Seattle’s 2016 Big Give – needs help.

The program is in the midst of a crowdsourcing campaign to raise $60,000 to purchase and distribute 4,000 sleeping bags, mats and winter care packages to the homeless community throughout King County this winter.

Volunteers groups are forming to help distribute the essentials to homeless areas throughout South King County, including Auburn, Kent and Federal Way.

According to organizers, the fundraising effort culminates with the Big Give on Saturday, Nov. 19, where volunteers will come together to meet, serve and befriend the homeless community in King County with the sleeping bags, mats and care packages.

Sleepless in Seattle is a volunteer-led group based out of Seattle committed to caring meeting, serving and befriending those experiencing homelessness in King County with sleeping bags and a smile.
