For the Reporter
The Washington Dental Service Foundation SmileMobile, which travels the state offering examinations to children who might not otherwise have access to dental care, will be in Kent next month.
The SmileMobile will be located at Kent Elementary, 26700 64th Ave. S., and will provide examinations on June 3-5. Follow-up treatment appointments will be scheduled on a space available basis for the duration of our stay.
The SmileMobile, a brightly painted 38 – foot dental clinic on wheels, is hard to miss when it rolls into town. Sponsored by the Washington Dental Service and in partnership with Seattle Children’s Hospital, the SmileMobile provides dental care to children from low-income families.
Children birth through high school with limited access to dental care can be scheduled by calling Kent Elementary 253-373 7579. The SmileMobile is staffed by a clinic manager, dentist and dental assistant, and teams of local volunteer dental professionals in each community it visits.
Medicaid and sliding scale fee is accepted as reimbursement for services.
