King County Councilmember Pete von Reichbauer hosts a Veterans Workshop and Job Fair on Tuesday, Dec. 11, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the KO-AM TV station, 32008 32nd Ave. S., Federal Way.
The event targets veterans but is also open to the general public.
The program will include a welcome and keynote speaker, followed by break-out sessions on topics important to veterans. In addition, there will be displays and exhibits by veteran resource groups and employers including local companies, government and nonprofit agencies.
“I am looking forward to hosting this program to help both South King County veterans and their families who are in need of services or assistance in their job hunts,” said von Reichbauer, who served in the U.S. Army. “Many local companies, nonprofits and government agencies have programs that target veterans for job training and employment and this program will help connect veterans with these critical resources.”
Representatives from veteran resource organizations such as the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Veterans Affairs to provide information on the services they provide, as well as answer questions.
