Southbound State Route 167 in Kent will be fully closed from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19 for repaving the road and bridge work.

During the closure, southbound SR 167 will be closed from SR 516 to South 277th Street, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The southbound SR 516 on-ramp and the South 277th Street off-ramp will be closed.

A signed detour route will guide people around the closure. Travelers should expect heavier traffic volumes along the detour route.

Detour routes, such as West Valley Highway, cannot accommodate normal SR 167 traffic volume, so travelers are advised to plan ahead, travel during off-peak hours or, if possible, delay discretionary travel to help minimize backups, according to WSDOT.

Work is weather sensitive and may be rescheduled. Schedule updates will be available on the project webpage, WSDOT’s Travel Center map, the WSDOT mobile app and by signing up for King County email updates.
