U.S. Army veterans Chriss Moen and Debi Lovelace, a Navy mother, salute after laying a wreath for departed World War II Navy veteran Donald Hanson at Tahoma National Cemetery on Saturday.
Hanson, who lived in Kent, died Nov. 3 at the age of 96. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans for more than 50 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 15 of Kent and Auburn VFW Post 1741.
Hanson volunteered his time at the cemetery as a chaplain and service support member and was loved by everyone who knew him.
The cemetery hosted Wreaths Across America, a holiday wreath-laying ceremony, to honor and remember the nation’s veterans.
Moen is a life member and junior vice commander of DAV, Chapter A-One No. 33, Kent, and a member of American Legion Post 15.
