State Route 410 between Enumclaw and Greenwater has reopened to two-way traffic following repairs to the road and guardrail.
Work on the hillside and the shoulder of the road will continue as crews finish installing fence posts and concrete barriers, according to a Nov. 2 email from the state Department of Transportation.
Restoring travel on the highway required a significant amount of work following the Fish Fire in early September. The fire loosened material on the hillside, prompting the closure of the road below. Following an evaluation of the slope by DOT’s geotechnical experts, contractor crews removed loose rock, installed safety netting and repaired the damaged roadway and guardrail. Traffic used a single-lane gravel bypass during the repairs at mileposts 32 to 33.
