Early-morning drivers should prepare for intermittent closures of the SR 520 Evergreen Point Floating Bridge on Thursday, Dec. 9.
During the closures, Washington State Department of Transportation crews will perform tests on the bridge systems and drawspan to make sure it is in working order. They will also conduct maintenance work. Maintenance openings of the bridge drawspan begin at 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9. They will end by 5 a.m. Drivers can expect the bridge to be closed to traffic for up to 30 minutes at a time.
Drivers will be alerted to possible 30-minute delays by electronic signs on highways that lead to the bridge. Traffic conditions on the bridge can be monitored on our Seattle traffic page at www.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle.
Drivers can also check the SR 520 cameras mounted on both highrises. The west highrise camera is atwww.wsdot.wa.gov/Traffic/seattle/sr520_midspan.htm#cam.
The east highrise camera is available at: www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/seattle/sr520_easthighrise.htm#cam
