A driver faces a felony hit-and-run charge after reportedly striking and injuring an 18-year-old Seattle woman walking on State Route 516 in Kent near an Interstate 5 off ramp.
At about 6 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, the woman was walking westbound on SR 516 (aka Kent Des Moines Road) crossing the base of the ramp from southbound I-5, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The vehicle exited southbound I-5 to westbound SR 516 in lane one of three striking the pedestrian, according to the State Patrol. The driver assisted the pedestrian and transported her to St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way before fleeing the scene. The driver did not provide any identification to the woman.
The State Patrol is seeking witnesses to the hit-and-run. The vehicle is a white, newer four-door pickup truck, possibly a Chevy Silverado. The driver is an Hispanic male, between the ages of 20 and 30, with lighter skin and a mullet-style haircut.
Anyone with information about the suspect or the vehicle is asked to contact Detective Russ Haake at russ.haake@wsp.wa.gov.
