Kent’s annual Summer Recycling Collection Event is Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kent Phoenix Academy, 11000 SE 264 St.
Bring appliances, refrigerators and freezers, toilets, sinks, mattresses, scrap metal, concrete, rocks, asphalt and brick. Each vehicle will also be allowed to dispose of three file-sized boxes of shredding.
It is free to the public.

The Wastemobile, a roving household hazardous waste collection service, continues its 2018 season with a collection event in the Kent-Covington area, June 8-10.
The Wastemobile will be at Kent Fire Station 75, at 15635 SE 272nd St., Kent, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
Residents can drop off household hazardous waste items including pesticides, oil-based paints, automotive products (oil, antifreeze, lamps, etc.), fluorescent bulbs/tubes and other items without a charge. The service is pre-paid through garbage and sewer utility fees.
