Around 5:45 p.m. on June 11, an Auburn Police patrol responded to a suspicious circumstance near the area of 112th Place Southeast and Southeast 325th Street, which turned out to be a female discharging a firearm, multiple times, in her parent’s home.
When patrol responded to the scene, the suspect’s parents escaped out the backdoor of the home. Negotiators on the scene tried to communicate with the suspect, but she was non-compliant. Eventually, because she was non-compliant and had a firearm, SWAT was deployed.
SWAT used various tactics to influence and motivate the suspect to increase compliance, among them, introducing electronics into the residence to gather more information, including her whereabouts within the home. About 20 minutes after midnight, the female suspect decided to comply and come out.
She was taken into custody and no one was injured as a result of the police activity. Auburn PD was told she had mental health issues and that she was under the influence of methamphetamine.
This is still an active investigation.
