For the Reporter
The Seattle Thunderbirds will appear twice on ROOT Sports’ “Friday Night Ice,” the network and Western Hockey League (WHL) announced today.
The T-Birds will host Spokane on Feb. 6 and travel to Portland for a March 6 matchup. Both games are part of an eight-game broadcast schedule that will bring live WHL action into 3.4 million homes throughout five U.S. states during the regular season.
This is the sixth year of the partnership between WHL and ROOT Sports.
The WHL on ROOT Sports will feature the play-by-play of Ian Furness with analysis provided by former WHL and NHL player Kevin Sawyer.
