The Seattle Thunderbirds will host the first two games of the Western Hockey League playoffs later this month, the team announced Thursday.
The T-Birds play Game 1 of the best-of-seven, first-round series at 7:35 p.m. Friday, March 25, and Game 2 at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the ShoWare Center.
The T-Birds, riding an eight-game winning streak, lead the U.S. Division with six regular-season games remaining. The T-Birds can finish no worse than second place in the division, ensuring they have home-ice advantage for the opening round of the playoffs.
Seattle’s first-round opponent has yet to be determined. A full first round schedule will be released once an opponent is determined.
Single-game tickets to the first two home playoff games go on sale at noon Monday. Tickets can be purchased on the T-Birds website or at the ShoWare Center box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
The T-Birds have a group ticket special for fans who want to purchase tickets to Game 1 and Game 2, or both, before they go on sale to the general public. Fans that purchase 10 tickets to either Game 1 or Game 2 for $180 will also receive two additional free tickets to the playoff game they choose and $10 in Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Fans can purchase this playoff group ticket special for Games 1 and 2 online or by calling the T-Birds at 253-239-PUCK (7825).
The T-Birds play the second-place Everett Silvertips at 7:35 p.m. Friday at ShoWare. They travel to Portland to play the Winterhawks at 7 p.m. Saturday.
