The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Kent and the rest of Western Washington from 11 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.
Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and mid 90s this weekend with overnight lows in the mid 50s to lower 60s.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is likely and the combination of hot temps and high humidity will create possible heat illnesses.
Take extra precaution if you work or spend time outside. Reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Wear light and loose fitting clothing and drink plenty of water.
Anyone overcome by heat should move to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency so call 911 if needed.
